MASON JOINS REDS’ YOUNGEST CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SCORERS LIST
Mason Greenwood has become the second-youngest player in history to score for Manchester United in the Champions League.
Latching onto Paul Pogba’s through pass in the 21st minute of our 5-0 victory over RB Leipzig on Wednesday night, Mason burst into the penalty area and coolly stroked the ball into the far corner, with what was his first-ever shot in the tournament.
At just 19 years and 27 days, the youngster’s strike against the German side puts him behind only club-record scorer Wayne Rooney in the list, who famously netted a hat-trick against Fenerbahce on his United debut in 2004.
